Our client, a rail infrastructure company is currently looking for a Project Commercial Assistant to join them on a contract basis in there offices close to London Bridge.
The Project Commercial Assistant will work within a the Asset Protection team which is a seperate business within the infrastrucure company and as such will need excellent communications skills to be able to work with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key accountabilities
- Support the Asset Protection team in fulfilling governance requirements in a timely manner.
- Manage cost reporting of all Asset Protection projects within the reporting framework including Cost Forecasting, Anticipated Final Cost, Cost of Work Done, Gross Billing and Current Contract Value.
- Monitor, update and report on all Asset Protection projects, flagging issues and proposing mitigation actions at the earliest opportunity to the Project Managers.
- Manage assessment and valuation of consultants’ applications and processing of payment certification in accordance with processes, contractual terms and conditions and commensurate with contractual entitlement.
- Produce applications for payment/invoices to outside clients in accordance with relevant funding agreements, including supporting documentation as appropriate.
- Provide ad-hoc management information and analysis so the manager of the team can make rational business decisions
- Produce appropriate commercial correspondence for issue in accordance with contractual conditions. Commercial records should be retained and archived properly upon close out.
- Undertake final account settlements and internal reconciliation for contract close-out (per the project authority, project plan) as required and within agreed timescales.
- Implement and support continual improvement of all processes and reports used by the Asset Protection team.
- Support with contract procurement activities as appropriate.
- Excellent language and presentation skills due to necessity of communicating with numerous internal and external stakeholders

Extensive experience in commercial management

Demonstrable relevant experience
- Excellent understanding of Oracle Projects and iProcurement
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Musty have excellent experience of Microsoft Excel including use of Visual Basic as there is a vast amount of data involved in this work
- Good understanding of the construction/railway industry
- Good understanding of Business Analytics
Desirable;
- Educated to degree standard in related subject
- Membership of a relevant professional institute, chartered status
- Significant experience of working within a generalist commercial environment
