Role Purpose
The purpose of this role is to lead the engineering delivery of signalling projects for the TICS Business and assist the Project Management, Design, Installation and Works Testing activities for successful and compliant delivery
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the TICS internal bid process and review opportunities, identify project risks/assumptions and assess resource requirements for pricing.
- Responsible for leading the relationship with the client for all signalling engineering matters.
- Lead the Project Team on engineering matters and deliverables for signalling projects.
- Identify project requirements, plan and programme internal and external resources with the assistance of the Design, Install and Testing Heads.
- Ensure that signalling design, construction and test activities are fully coordinated to achieve project deliverables.
- Ensure that changes to engineering scope are captured and escalated and assist the Project Manager in identifying commercial opportunities.
- Monitor and update the project management team of project progress and monitor planned spend profiles and project budgets.
- Maintain accurate as built drawings and health and safety file information is produced as appropriate for project close out.
- Establish and maintain adherence to TICS Policies and Procedures with regard to Safety, Quality and Engineering compliance.
The successful applicant will possess the following attributes
- Extensive project experience with a proven track record in delivering multiple signalling projects in a timely and safe manner.
- Broad multidisciplinary engineering expertise.
- Extensive experience in signalling, competent with signalling principles.
- An understanding of railway terminology, practice and Network Rail standards.
- Ability to write technical reports.
- Well-developed leadership, communication, negotiating, influencing and inter-personal skills, with the drive and commitment to achieve project objectives.
- Commitment to provide safety leadership and ability to deliver high standards on health and safety.
- Proven track record in establishing and building relationships with suppliers, client/contractors and internal stakeholders.
- Tier 1 Contractor experience.
- A high level of numeric and analytical ability, with experience of the financial control of all projects.
- Have the confidence and experience to pro-actively solve problems, think laterally, identify and implement corrective actions.
Qualifications Required
- Relevant engineering qualification.
- Associate member of IRSE or relevant professional body.
- Full UK drivers licence.
