In the UK, this business currently employs over 500 staff and has projects that cover various locations all over the UK including Central London, Doncaster, Kent and Bristol. This company have secured a high number of multi million pound projects that include some full life cycle contracts to maintain and manufacture rolling stock. This particular contract is worth £361m and they are required to deliver 22 five car and 7 nine car trains that will enter service by December 2018.

ABOUT THE JOB

This is an exciting role for any Rolling Stock Engineer who thrives off challenging yet highly rewarding scenarios. In this role, you will act as the bridge between the customer and the engineering teams, putting your excellent rolling stock knowledge into use to make required changes to the train specification to keep costs down and the customer happy. You will be involved at all stages of the process from production through to testing and commissioning. You will report on progress, capture post production modifications and variations for the PM, taking engineering requests into the design team (and back again) and produce final snagging lists.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

This role requires someone that has amazing negotiation skills and excellent powers of persuasion. As you will be developing an asset from an owner’s perspective you will need to have respect for what they are aiming to achieve whilst keeping in mind what is possible from a cost and technology perspective. You will have presence, engineering excellence and able to deputise for the Engineering Manager in his absence.

THE REQUIREMENTS

You’re the Project Engineer/Interface Engineer I am looking for if you can demonstrate a solid track record in rolling stock from an OEM or TOC supported by an HNC (as a minimum) in engineering discipline (ideally electrical!). If you have had experience working for a ROSCO then I want to talk to you too.

THE SALARY

• £55-60K + Pension + Healthcare + 25 Days Holiday + BH
