Project Planner Inside IR35

Contract Term: 3 Months. (Extension likely)

Contracting Authority: GBRTT

Location: London, Waterloo.

As a Project Planner you will develop project and integrated programme plans / schedules on behalf of programme and project managers in order to meet overall requirements of the client / business in most cost effective and reliable manner.

Your main responsibilities would be:

  • To interact and become a key member of the GBRTT project delivery team providing a quality service to support the effective delivery of the project.
  • To interact and support the effective information sharing / collection with all the project stakeholders in an appropriate manner so all parties are informed and able to support the delivery and execution of the plan.
  • Prepare a project work breakdown structure and plan / schedule which is capable of delivering the project objectives and providing effective project performance measurement and reporting.
  • To develop the appropriate quality plan / schedule in line with the project scheduling principles and processes. Support the education of project managers and senior leaders of the established planning framework in order to build capability within the organisation.
  • Facilitate and support joined up planning across GBRTT and with the industry, working with partners such as the Department for Transport, Network Rail and the Rail Delivery Group in order to deliver aligned planning for rail reform work.
  • Monitor and progress the plan / schedule as required and establishing baselines following change events.
  • Develop recovery schedules and contingency plans in order to meet changed objectives as necessary.
  • Input the planning issues and planning insights into the project’s risk register. Review planning risks and monitor whether the risk register is updated accordingly.
  • Report actual performance and variance against plan and forecast outcomes. Highlight key milestone and critical path issues to members of the team, provide an assessment of the impact of such issues and recommend solutions to correct the position.
  • Monitor and audit contractor and consultancy plans (where required). Monitor contractor’s planning processes so that they integrate with GBRTT methods. Interrogate contractor’s statement of progress for schedule adherence and payment purposes.
  • Identify key resource requirements and monitor that these are properly booked, and availability is maintained.

You’ll have relevant experience and skills in:

  • The successful scheduling of projects
  • Using Primavera, P6 and MS Project.
  • Knowledge and experience of using planning systems and software.
  • Using a number of project management scheduling tools & techniques
  • Excellent time-management skills and an adaptable approach in a demanding environment.
  • Excellent problem solver, experienced in user support and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work at all levels to achieve best customer outcomes.
