We are currently recruiting for a Project Planner to work on a range of Highways projects in London. The Planner will be responsible for the quality of the plans, scheduling, preparing project and supplier schedules, assessing cost claims and undertaking Critical Path Analysis to support successful project delivery.
The Key Accountabilities of the Project Planner will be as follows:
- Responsible for working with the Planning Manager to implement and manage consistent planning and scheduling tools and techniques, processes and standards across PPD, in line with TfL and industry best practice.
- Responsible for validating supplier schedules as part of the contract acceptance process and assessing priority early warnings and compensation events, reviewing forecast assumptions, ensuring QSRA process is followed and maintaining project and supplier schedules, undertaking forensic planning analysis, tender evaluation, assessment of claims, accuracy of schedule cost information and other related activities.
- Implement Earned Value Management measurement techniques on both new and existing Projects in order to demonstrate the project status.
The Knowledge, Skills and Experience expected of the Project Planner will be as follows:
- Working knowledge of EVM
- Good knowledge and understanding of planning and scheduling tools and techniques, standards and processes in a project management setting.
- Working knowledge and understanding of project and programme management methodologies and their practical application in a Transport setting.
- Proficient in use of MS Project to produce project plans, GANTT charts and other planning outputs.
- Understanding of Primavera is desirable but not necessary.
- Analyse complex data (quantitative and qualitative) draw conclusions, and produce solutions and decisions.
- Experience working on Highways Construction projects.
- Experience of working on Civil and/or structures projects with a contract value in excess of £5M
- Experience of working in multi functional teams in a matrix environment
- Experience of client and contractor facing roles at intermediate/senior level
- Experience of stakeholder management and development of schedules from first principles
