An exciting opportunity for a P6 Project Planner has become available with a fast-growing engineering design consultancy in the company’s York office. The role is suitable for an experienced Planner or aspiring Engineer who has gained experience from railway engineering and ideally been exposed to delivering projects to clients from the design side.

Reporting into the Senior Planner and Planning Manager, you will be involved with delivering a portfolio of Network Rail projects and will therefore have gained some exposure to multi-disciplinary rail projects and is familiar with this environment.

The job holder will have at least 2 years of experience within an engineering environment and will have either obtained a relevant degree qualification or surmounted an equivalent level of work experience. Central to the role will be the use of Primavera P6, therefore it is essential that you are a confident and fluent user of this software.

Responsibilities will include liaising with engineers and project managers, updating project schedules and reporting progress to the wider project team. Therefore, the use of relevant project controls techniques such as Earned Value, Critical Path and S-Curve analysis will be required.

Requirements:

• Confident user of Primavera P6
• Experienced in the use of MS Project
• Degree qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent industry experience
• Railway engineering experience including civils, OLE, P-way and Signalling disciplines
• Knowledge of the Network Rail GRIP stages
• Project Controls knowledge – EVM, Critical Path, S-Curves, SPI and CPI
• Awareness of Engineering principles and standards
