The Opportunity
This role gives an excellent opportunity for professional development and to work for a business that is recognised as a market leader in its field.
Role and Responsibilities:
* Ensure that the integrity of the quality system is maintained and developed thereby contributing to the achievement of consistent operational performance and standards.
* To provide a professional Quality Assurance service to the business to both eliminate problems and to implement a Continuous Improvement ethic across the organisation, as well as actively supporting our Customers ensuring 100% quality delivery.
Skills/Experience
* Higher qualification in Quality Management / Manufacturing Engineering related discipline.
* Minimum of 5 years of quality assurance experience and Rail industry knowledge would be very beneficial.
* Fully conversant with Quality and Environmental Management systems ISO9001:2015 and ISO14001 as well as demonstrating a working knowledge of quality tools such as Process Flow, FMEA, Control Plan methodology, PPAP, NPI / APQP and 8D root cause analysis.
* Must have a desire for achieving excellence in customer satisfaction, process and product quality and reliability.
* Challenging systems and processes to ensure best practice
* Confident in working with Senior Management and able to challenge existing ways of working.
* Experience of managing staff and document control experience
* Ensure effective controls are in place across the whole project life cycle
* Develop, recommend and monitor corrective and preventive actions
* Identify training needs and organize training interventions to meet quality standards
* Monitor risk management activities
* Assure on going compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements
* An excellent problem solving, interpersonal communication and project management skill is a must.
* As part of the companies Continuous Improvement program, required to undertake development of process maps and have an in-depth knowledge of Kaizen / Lean and Six Sigma experience would be advantageous.
* Knowledge of a broad range of engineering subjects, from geometric dimensional tolerances to materials specifications
* Strong analytical skills and experience with implementation and administration of Quality Assurance metrics, such as defect and cost of quality reduction profiles.
* Knowledge of Railway legislation's and client requirements would be advantageous
* Good IT skills, confident in using MS Office applications.

* Strong leadership skills that inspire team confidence and respect while motivating team members in a creative and effective manner.
