Our client is a highly respected multi-disciplinary UK contractor who offer engineering services for both public and private sector clients. They are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to be based out of a number of locations which include North West where you will work on Rail infrastructure projects.
This role will be offered on a contract and also permanent basis paying circa £40,000 - £50,000 plus company benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
- All duties required by the commercial department or project team, to ensure successful setup and running of a project or projects in compliance with all company standards and in particular the “Commercial Manual”.
- Inputting budget & tender data from successful tenders into the Company accounting/Reporting System.
- Take responsibility within the Commercial Department and Project Team with the preparation of the monthly project reports from the Company accounting/Reporting System.
- Preparation of the monthly Applications and Invoicing to ensure submission in a timely manner of an accurate document aimed at maximising the company’s financial position.
- Collection of cash and pursuit of certificates from clients in a timely manner, in order to maximise the company’s cash flow position.
- Input of applications and invoices onto the company accounts system including payment certificates and produce cash flow reports.
- Raise PO requisitions, GRN and Off Hiring of plant equipment on the company accounting system in order to ensure accurate cost information on projects.
- Take responsibility for inputting Sub-Contractor Certificates on the company accounting system and ensuring the accuracy of information being recorded.
- Identify and record change control opportunities together with inputting change control items to the company accounting system.
- Take responsibility for the provision of and copying substantiation for project change and/or costs.
- Escalate at an early stage where clients are being obstructive toward agreeing any change control issues.
Qualifications/ Experience Required:
- Working toward a degree or equivalent in Surveying and working towards a recognised professional membership.
- Minimum 5 years experience in a commercial environment, preferably within the Rail/Construction or related industry.
- Ideally you will have COINS software experience
- Network Rail project experience
