SHEQ Manager (Fixed Term Contract)
As SHEQ Manager you will manage the SHEQ function, monitoring, developing and supporting objectives, plans, procedures and targets ensuring compliance with legislation for the Track Renewals Leadership Team.
Key Objectives
- Ensure that monitoring, inspections and audits are carried out and reported to satisfy its internal and external stakeholders that it is compliant with legislative, Industry and Colas Rail company standards and business requirements.
- Provide support in developing, reviewing and monitoring of the annual SHEQ Plan and objectives and targets.
- Responsible for providing positive leadership within your area of SHEQ operation and promote the adoption of best practice.
- Lead and direct functional management for SHEQ personnel.
- Responsible for developing, promoting and monitoring the SHEQ culture to deliver positive commitment to and engagement of all employees in continuous improvement of SHEQ performance.
Qualifications and experience required
- Proven experience operating within the rail industry and has experience of operating at a senior level as a SHEQ professional
- Professional HSQE qualification (NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent) and is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (CMIOSH)
- Sound knowledge of legislation, railway group and network rail company standards and is familiar with ISO, <phone number removed> and OHSAS 18001 management systems requirements and auditing processes
- Ability influence and shape business direction. Be a persuasive communicator, able to express views to diverse groups both internally and externally
- Understanding of the rail industry and clients requirements
