Airswift is urgently seeking a Safety Engineer with ETCS experience in Brisbane in Melbourne. Our client is a rail technology leader and specializes in providing the full spectrum of rail solutions.
As the Safety Engineer ETCS, you will be responsible delivering, maintaining, and assuring Product Safety programs that are compliant with applicable State and National legislation and the company's policy across Australia projects.
Key Responsiblities:
- Create safety plans defining the necessary work to be done for the product safety assurance programs.
- Setup and maintain the product Hazard Logs.
- Provide support in the definition and description of safety related functions, development of hazards analysis and risk assessment, analysis and description of failure chains (FTA, FME(C)A, etc.)
- Develop and apportion safety requirements in concept and early design stage to prevent, eliminate or control hazards and risks SFAIRP.
- Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices.
- Prepare safety cases according to actual safety standards in railway industry, such as evaluation of functional diagrams from a safety point of view, safety analysis aimed at compliance verification with the safety requirements (including hazard rates calculation), definition of operational and / or maintenance measures for risk control, verification with selected procedures, documentation.
- Plan and manage workload commitments and deliverables.
- Develop and manage the delivery of work packages with strategic partners.
- Represent company in ETCS development, integration, delivery and testing forums.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience within a similar role
- Working knowledge of Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and other risk management tools
- Strong understanding of EN 50126/8/9 and Functional Safety
- Ability to develop an understanding of technical systems and their integration into vehicle design to ensure risks managed throughout relevant vehicle lifecycle phases.
