Senior Bridge Assessment Engineer (Rail) - STE04/05 in Birmingham, West Midlands, United Kingdom
Following the recent awarding of the Year 3,4 and 5 CAFA OPSAP package, our Birmingham team is expanding. Are you a Bridge Inspector/Engineer ready to take on this role with (STE04/05) to ensure we have adequate resilience in the team.

In this role you will have the following daily responsibilities:

Lead inspections for assessment for a range of structures, including bridges and operational property structures.

Take a collaborative role in the Assessment of major civil engineering structures.

Undertake assessments for both Highway and Rail under minimal supervision.

Supervision of graduate engineers and technicians.

Prepare, check and review Form AA and Assessment Reports.

Report writing and production of technical reports and document
Our Birmingham office has an established track record of successfully delivering bridge engineering schemes for more than 30 years throughout the UK. Our office, located at the heart of Birmingham City Centre, has multi-disciplinary transportation inspection, assessment and design capability in rail and highway schemes and works closely with other disciplines from the Highways, Rail, Geotechnical, Environment, Transport Planning and Development Sectors.
Minimum Requirements
You will be pro-active and self-driven individual with a combination of the following:

STE4 / STE5 Competent
-
Sound technical understanding of structures
-
Strong background in leading inspections for assessment
-
Experience working as part of a team and managing less experienced team members.

Ideally having experience in masonry, metallic (including wrought iron and cast iron), concrete (including prestressed) and timber structures
-
MS Office Skills – Essential.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Degree qualified civil engineer, or certified completion of a bridge inspection/examination training course / or suitably qualified by experience.

PTS desirable
-
COSS desirable but not essential
