Job title: Senior Construction Manager

An exciting and unique opportunity for a Senior Construction Manager has arisen to cover the South West region, responsible for leading a number of prestigious and key projects. Due to the current and projected workload in the region, the opportunity to develop and lead the projects is an excellent one, being responsible for £200M's worth of a multidisciplinary programme or works centred around the improvement and upgrade of signalling systems.

Role

As Senior Construction Manager you will be accountable for Railways Systems construction (GRIP 5-8) taking into account time and quality objectives and support budgetary cost control and governance. Each project will have a discipline specific Construction Manager that will report directly into you, and in turn they will manager the safety critical staff to support the programme as required.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Manage Rail Systems infrastructure delivery throughout the lifecycle of the works including covering Construction, Commissioning and entry into service
• Ensure there is accurate updating and reporting of construction site activities to the Project Director on a weekly/periodic basis in compliance with the statutory reporting periods
• Manage Construction Manager's who are responsible for deliverying their individual works
• Support financial information reporting for subcontractors
• Support and provide recommendation for the procurement additional resources to address any programme slippage shortfalls
• Support construction integration activities for relevant projects

Essential requirements:

• Extensive experience managing teams and and scheduling on major projects
• Experience of managing a business function with financial accountability
• Proven experience of team leadership and influencing staff
• Extensive experience of Signalling primarily, but also exposed to interfacing with PWAY & Civils construction activities with a thorough working knowledge of Network Rail standards
