Senior Engineer - Structure / Structural

Salary £350-400 a day

Location: Bicester - Calvert

What the business is looking for:

Are you a Senior Engineer with extensive experience on Major Structural Rail Projects? Our client a leading principle contractor has won a Major Project based. They are looking for a Senior Engineer to take full responsibility for setting out, engineering control and quality on site with the engineering team.

The Role

As senior engineer you will be:

• Creating a safe working environment
• Assist the Site Agent with planning and coordination projects
• Write, review and implement Risk Assessments & Method Statements along with Inspection Test Plans
• Ensuring all works carried out are in line with project specifications, including engineering checks, hold points, inspections and tests
• Delegate tasks, train and mentor the site engineering team
• Attend and update at coordination meetings
• Ensure works are in accordance to specifications, Project work information and drawings
• Ensure records are kept up to date and of high-quality including site diaries, quality assurance documents, photos, surveys, red line drawings and test results
• Control and minimise waste
• Ensure the safety of all company property when on and off site

Ideal candidate

• Experience working on Rail Structural Projects
• NVQ Level 3 or higher in Civil Engineering
• SMSTS
• CSCS
• Office 365 expertise/CAD
• Ability to work safely
• Read & Interpret data and drawings
• Advanced setting out techniques and able to use Level and EDM with knowledge of GPS preferred
• Relevant Civil Engineering experience (Highways, Rail, water or aviation)
• Proven leadership and delegation skills
