A key provider of engineering, design consultancy and specialist services to the rail industry. They are now looking to expand their rail systems capability. With a number of well-established Rail Systems Design Centres throughout the UK their teams deliver a wide variety of complex and technically challenging projects around the country and overseas.

The Role

Delivering OLE engineering (design and consultancy) specific tasks & targets

Contributing OLE design input to electrification engineering (Design and Build consultancy) projects, familiar with CDM regulation

Managing OLE engineering input to multi-disciplinary railway engineering (design and consultancy) projects;

Project management of various OLE related design & consultancy works at all levels

Providing & developing cost estimate, design program, work scope, resource planning & schedule, reporting and forecasting;

Developing detailed design analysis & fact finding reports;

Advising client in all aspects of OLE specific design & construction;

Strong leadership & direction of allocated resource & tasks.

Mentoring, developing, and training of junior staff.

Monitoring company quality and project management and relevant procedures, to tasks undertaken by the OLE team.

Providing risk assessments, HAZOP & HAZID analysis, and environmental management input to OLE related projects.

Underpinning knowledge of OLE engineering design principles, standards, components, and fabrication methods.

Previous experience as OLE Contractor's Responsible Engineer, Checker or Project Engineer

About You

You will:

Experience in OLE detailed design, construction & project management and design consultancy.

Degree qualified in an engineering discipline with ideally with chartered status.

Have leadership skills and able to develop the electrification community across the business

Have the vision and be able to identify opportunities for innovation within the UK rail electrification environment

Be a skilled and confident networker with the ability to build relationships and develop opportunities internally and externally

Have Influencing skills and able to influence across business areas

Have proven project management experience with the ability to win work and deliver improvement in capability through the deployment of new tools and techniques

Be commercially aware and able to identify suitable opportunities

Be able to mentor, coach and develop people to meet their full potential
