Senior Planner
Senior Planner required by an international contractor. They provide construction services across many sectors and are renowned for investing in and rewarding their employees. They have a proven track record of successful delivery across traditionally tendered projects and longer term partnering agreements. They now require a Senior Planner to join their expanding rail division and help develop their planning expertise.
The Role
To support multi-discipline Rail projects based in Derby.
Consult project management teams on all planning matters.
Produce tender information and programmes.
Analyse and evaluate construction methods, techniques and logistics.
Attend adjudication meetings and present detailed explanation of programme and methodology.
Preparation of the Master / Contract / Managing Programme and supporting information.
Analyse / prepare project progress positions and forecast project completions.
Identify project risks / opportunities and participate in the management process. - Preparation of entitlement submissions.
Be aware of health and safety issues relating to planning.
About You
You will have previous experience of working in a senior planning role
Degree Qualified with a minimum of 7 years relevant infrastructure industry experience or HNC /HND qualified with a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience
Strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation and presentation skills;
Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
Expert knowledge of Primavera software and experience of MS Project;
Member of professional institute such as Association for Project Management (APM);
Experience of working in conjunction with the Risk Managers and Project Managers to input into the risk register for assigned jobs;
Ability to provide management reporting at Portfolio and Project level to support the commercial risk process;
Detailed experience of Critical Path Analysis;
Experience of programme acceptance process under the NR3/4 form of contract;
Understanding of the impact of Change Orders;
Ability to define Project Controls and Earned Value Management policies, procedures and the standards required to deliver projects;
Able to monitor and control schedule compliance in respect of contractual obligations.
