Since conception, operations have expanded considerably, with our Head Office in Doncaster, a Design office in York and Test offices in Doncaster, York and Peterborough.

We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and committed Senior Project Manager / Programme Manager (Railway Signalling) to lead and direct the Board in the delivery of signalling projects.

The Project Manager / Programme Manager is responsible for the following:

• Involved in work winning and business development;
• Lead the bid management process for forthcoming opportunities;
• Develop tender invites, selecting external specialists necessary to facilitate the achievement of the project;
• Negotiating and authorising all contracts for the project and approving all accounts for payment;
• Lead the delivery of several multi-disciplinary signalling projects;
• Engineering delivery, being accountable for their performance in line with programme schedules and budget restrictions;
• Establish and build relationships with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders;
• Provide direction and control to establish and maintain deliverables;
• Ensure that all safety, quality, cost and programme targets are met, ensuring compliance with all Company policies and procedures;
• Protect business budgetary constraints, maximise change control opportunities and complete client/supplier final account processes;
• Report to the Board of Directors.

The successful applicant will possess the following attributes:

• Extensive project management experience at a senior level with a proven track record in delivering multiple signalling projects in a timely and safe manner;
• Extensive multidisciplinary engineering expertise, with a strong rail signalling background;
• Well-developed leadership, communication, negotiating, influencing and inter-personal skills, with the drive and commitment to achieve project objectives;
• Commitment to provide safety leadership and ability to deliver high standards on health and safety;
• Proven track record in establishing and building relationships with suppliers, client/contractors and internal stakeholders;
• Tier 1 Contractor experience essential;
• Expertise in programme planning and controls;
• A high level of numeric and analytical ability, with experience of the financial control of all projects;
• Have the confidence and experience to pro-actively solve problems, think laterally, identify and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications Required:

• A degree Qualification or equivalent;
• Membership of the Association for Project Management or other professional body; and
• Full UK drivers licence.
