TXM Recruit are actively seeking a Senior Rolling Stock Electrical Designer/Engineer on a 6 month rolling contract based in the Coventry area.

A forward thinking Rolling Stock manufacturer is now looking to increase its team and needs a Senior Rolling Stock Electrical Designer/Engineer to assist in the development and delivery of their exciting vehicle.

Working as part of a team and on your own initiative, you must be an experienced Rolling Stock vehicle electrical engineer/designer. Your roles will be varied, but focused on:

• Developing Schematic drawings, Harness Specifications and ensure the overall electrical equipment list (BOM) is kept up-to-date.
• Compile Loom details and work alongside sub-suppliers to ensure on time delivery
• Advise routing and guide mechanical designers in what the electrical team require on the vehicle ready for loom installation
• Understand and can educate the design, testing, construction and operation of an electrical design in rolling stock
• Work to current Rolling Stock standards and associated best practice is applied.
• Work closely with the team of electrical designers, Project and System engineers to ensure the overall vehicle is appreciated and accommodated for
• Undertake vehicle measuring and advise installation teams in design intent.If you feel the above is something you live and breath, we would require you to:

• Have an Electrical Engineering Degree or over 10 years’ recent experience as an electrical engineer/designer in Rolling Stock.
• Have a complete understanding of electrical engineering principles on Rolling Stock
• Have excellent experience of rail vehicle systems.
• Be fully conversant with Microsoft Excel
• Be able to demonstrate the ability to complete diagrams in MS Visio.
• Work well in a team.
