Due to increased workload we are seeking to recruit a Signalling Design Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation of Signalling design under the instruction of the Project Design Lead. For smaller projects the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the project and mentoring junior design staff.
This role will offer the opportunity for the right candidate to innovate and use the latest technology to develop themselves and the projects they work on. We are continuously working hard to collaborate with clients and sub-contracts to ensure we are successful in the objective of improving the world we live in.
What will the role involve?
- Carry out design and assessment work for signalling elements of projects with minimal supervision
- Keep up to date with current NR, RSSB and British standards relevant to signalling design
- Prepare design and assessment reports and produce mark ups and sketches for CAD technicians
- Communicate effectively with other design/construction disciplines and sub-contractors
What are we looking for?
- A current IRSE Signalling Design License
- Previous experience of Signalling control systems
- Knowledge of interfaces between signaling/system engineering and other railway disciplines and how these are managed
- The ability to use the design software in the discipline (CAD etc)
