Join a global engineering contractor as a signalling system design verifier. In the role you will be Verifing safety related system design deliverables (Schematics, Layouts, Configuration) at a principle and system level in accordance with the client specific requirements and appropriate railway standards. You will also be supporting the Signalling Process and Tools manager with design verification assurance activities
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design Verifiers are responsible for the following:
* Verification and Validation of safety related Signalling design deliverables at a principle and system level in accordance with project programme, budgetary and technical requirements
* Verification and Validation of safety related Signalling design deliverables at a principle and system level in accordance with appropriate railway standards, technical constraints, health and safety legislation, Alstom company procedures, CDM Regulations, and CSM procedures
* Verification and Validation of generic design solutions to meet Signalling requirements
* Identify, capture and validate Signalling requirements
* Verify and Validate Signalling Design deliverables against all safety requirements
* Identify best practice signalling processes as part of a continual improvement plan to increase efficiency and minimize cost of non-quality and technical / delivery risk
* Taking reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and other persons who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work
* Co-operating as far as is reasonably practicable, with any statutory requirement placed on the company. Ensure that you do not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interest of safety or welfare
* Identifying and communicating (to the Signalling Process and Tools manager) any perceived shortcomings in Health and Safety arrangements, situations or processes that are considered to be serious or which may present dangers to yourself or others
* Working on safety critical or safety related activities only where this complies with relevant competence or authority to work, or implementing and documenting a robust mentorship plan

Essential:
* Application of Signalling Verification and Design Process at a principle and system level
* Application of SML Application Engineering processes
* Application of CDM (Construction, Design and Management Regulations)
* Application of the RSSB (Rail Safety and Standards Board)
* Application of Network Rail Standards (or equivalent)
* Possesses effective communication skills
