Job title: Site Project Manager - Rail

Job location: West Yorkshire

Duration: 6 Month Contract

I am currently recruiting for a Site Project Manager for an initial six month contract overseeing a number of development projects in a railway depot environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure on Site Management of Contractors is correctly and safely carried out by the Project Team.
  • Ensure that any operational constraints or temporary limitations are appropriately communicated to all relevant stakeholders, to ensure train maintenance activities can take place safely and uninhibited.
  • Ensure that all facilities affected by the works are available and fit to use for every night’s servicing e.g. Fuelling, Tanking, Depot Protection system.
  • Ensure that the operation of any temporary facilities is fully understood, documented and fully communicated to all appropriate stakeholders.
  • Work with the Depot Team and the wider team to ensure the scheme designs and specifications, and any changes to same meet requirements for safety and operation.
  • Act as focal point of contact for communication between the Contractor and Network Rail for the Project.
  • Lead the Depot Team at the weekly site meetings and any other Project liaison meetings and ensure the company is appropriately represented at those meetings by the specialist disciplines where required.
  • Report any safety issues to the Depot Manager.
  • Deliver a defined depot improvement plan on behalf of the Depot Manager.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience of managing major Civils and M & E Engineering Schemes in Operational Railway Depots desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of Network Rail Standards and Regulations
  • PTS Competent and understanding of COSS / SWL role.
  • Knowledge of CDM 2015 Regulations
  • Knowledge of site management involving civil engineering and the installation of mechanical and electrical plant and equipment
  • Knowledge and understanding of mechanical and electrical plant, equipment and systems typically used in the railway industry
  • Ability to read, understand and implement drawings and other written specification documents.
