About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Reliability Engineer to join our Rail team to work in Sandiacre.



What you'll be doing


As a Reliability Engineer, you will:

• Provide safety and change leadership
• Improve asset reliability by identifying and reporting on root cause of failure, trends and implementing corrective actions to avoid recurrence
• Assist depot managers to improve reliability by providing technical support.
• Own and coordinate of improvements across a specific fleet(s)
• Ensure that reliability improvement investment and activities are focussed where it is most effective and that resulting improvements can be measured

Who we're looking for


You will have:

• HND or higher in engineering discipline
• Minimum of 3 years successful experience in technical analysis & problem solving
• Skills in investigation techniques that focus on system causes, common cause and root cause
• Proficient ability in the use of computers
• Ability to write detailed reports
• Knowledge of human factors analysis techniques such as ABC (antecedents-behaviour-consequence) and human error analysis
• Knowledge of reliability analysis including: Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM), fault tree analysis, failure mode analysis and failure mode and effects analysis
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrics, electronics, computers etc.
• Knowledge of workshop practices especially fitting skills
