THE COMPANY

Their UK operation is currently developing, and you can be a part of the Organisation from the very beginning. There will be start-up operations across the UK & NI including vast manufacturing facility here in the UK.
The company have secured a number of high profile orders with full life-cycle maintenance contracts to manufacture and maintain brand new trains and as a result, will look to increase their headcount to meet the demands of these contracts.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
You’ll have an analytical mind, with extensive experience of writing VMI’s. Preferably from the Rail / Rolling Stock sector, but would seriously consider candidates from other sectors such as Aeroapce. You’ll be responsible for producing Vehicle Maintenance Instructions for all aspects of the maintenance and overhaul of all fleets. You’ll also be highly PC competent with the ability to learn new software programmes quickly, have a clear and concise writing style, and a flair for turning technical subjects and jargon into easily understood text.
ABOUT THE JOB
As the Technical Author your responsibility will be to develop VMI’s for Brand New Trains in the UK, as well as support the Maintenance Manager in the production and updates of the maintenance schedules, instructions and manuals, and define the material requirements for preventive maintenance and special tooling required to support the vehicle maintenance.
You’ll liaise with Suppliers and the companies Technical Office to ensure the technical content of the manuals are correct and support the Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety team in optimising maintenance activities in line with supplier life cycle cost models.
THE REQUIREMENTS
HND or above in an Engineering related discipline.
Previous experience as a technical author.
Experience of rail vehicle maintenance.
THE SALARY
Salary is negotiable depending on experience + Pension + 25 Days Holiday + BH
