Job Summary
Description
Aecoms Trackbed Technology team is based in Nottingham and services clients in the UK (Network Rail and London Underground) and internationally (including clients in Australia and USA).
A recent increase in our workload means that we can grow the size of the team and are looking for technical staff who can assist in both office and site based tasks.
All staff will be trained in our established working practices and the primary expectations for this role are as follows:
• Supervise staff on site and lead railway sitework activities (drilling, trial holes, drainage survey etc….)
• Logging trackbed materials to an established standard on site and in our laboratory facilities in Nottingham
• Collate site data in the office to be included in reproting deliverables to our clients
• Assist in report writing activities as and when required
• Undertake desk based studies, using clients' exisitng data to develop a plan for the on site activities
• Take responsbility for your own health safey and welfare and that of your colleagues and others supporting the works
• Report to project managers and team leaders on the progress of activities on site and in the office
• Night and weekend working will be required, but pay will be uplifted at competative rates to compensate the employee
• Be preparred to work overseas on assignments ranging between 2 weeks to 3 months
• Support other teams (laboratory, geophysics, site operations) as requried to meet demands in workload throughout the year
Minimum Requirements
• Full Driving Licence
• Proficient in the use of MS Office - specifically Excel and Word
• Willingness to work both on site and in the office and during "unsociable hours"
• Must be able to work as part of a team and under the instruction of others
• Any experience of leading a team or activities would also be attractive
Preferred Qualifications
A level or equivalent in mathematics, science or geography are preferred but not essential
HNC or BEng relating to Civil Engineering or Geology also preferable
