My client is one of the lead bidders for large Rail project which is being awarded in the next month. For this project they are looking to appoint a Senior Project Manager / Construction Manager for the new build project based in the South of the UK.
For the successful candidate you will receive £70-£80k per annum + Bonus + Pension + Benefits + the chance to work on major project.
This is a 90% on site based role and you will need to have knowledge of delivering projects worth £100m upwards. You will have an advantage if you have a delivered Rail Projects, Depots would be a high advantage.
What are my responsibilities?
"On-time, on-budget delivery of the build programme.
"Strong client and stakeholder management.
"Contract management of the main construction contractor and several specialist equipment suppliers.
"Reporting to the Project Director, you will ensure Health and Safety of all employees and contractors on site.
"Manage main contractor and key equipment suppliers delivering works on site ensuring programmes are fully co-ordinated
"Manage key relationships with the representatives of the relevant contractual parties and other stakeholders including approvals bodies and local planning authority
"Liaise with the Fleet Director, Maintenance to ensure that the scope and detailed design of the specified build fully supports the maintenance regime.
"Ensure that all technical requirements are actively managed throughout the project through the deployment of a robust Requirements Management system.
"Deploy a robust test and inspection plan to ensure that work is 'right first time' and completed to the required specification in order to minimise the risk of delays.
"Manage the approvals process for the infrastructure modifications ensuring that submissions are of the required quality and delivered on time.
"Work with the contractor and the specialist equipment suppliers to identify and implement measures to save time and/or cost in the design and construction of the project.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
"Project Managed large construction projects previously (min £100m+) Ideally Rail knowledge
"Degree qualified in Engineering or Construction related subject or posses relevant equivalent project management experience.
"Experience managing the delivery of rail interfaces on construction projects.
"Proven ability to proactively manage technical interfaces and accurately track construction progress on site.
"Self motivated to drive the delivery of the project.
"Proven written and verbal communication skills in both formal and informal business environments.
"Good influencing and negotiation skills with real ability to influence management decisions at senior level
