Head of Safety and Compliance- Rail, Safety in London, East London, United Kingdom
ATA Rail are proud to be working in partnership with a client based in East London to source an experienced Head of Safety and Compliance to be the safety representative for their business.
Our client specialises in DLR contracts and are looking for candidates with strong safety experience within a rail environment, whether that be LUL, Network Rail or Light Rail.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to;
1. Assist in the selection of/and approval of contractors
• Review of contractor's safety management systems
• Site Inspection and audit of Contractors
• Internal Work activities
2. On-going Safety Management
• Reporting of Safety, both internally and externally
• Accident and Incident investigation.
• Communication of safety training to employees.
• Management of H&S Committee Meetings
3. Representing the Company on all Safety matters including:
• Liaising and management of internal and external audits
• Interface with stakeholders
• Liaising with regulatory inspectors
4. Development and management of HSEMS procedures, as required and ensuring consistency and integration with the Network Safety Management Systems.
5. Implementation of Network procedures for the Company. This will include:
• Management of Asset Change and Organisational Change processes.
• Review of BCPs
• Review and implementation of WoRM
6. Management of the Assurance Engineer who will undertake audits to ensure compliance with external systems and processes.
7. Undertaking activity of Company Risk Register, work risk assessments, fire risk assessments and safety tours.
8. Development and delivery of Safety Improvement Plan.
9. Management of the Company Quality Management System
10. Working alongside other managers and nominated external consultants, manage ad hoc projects of varying scale and complexity to meet the ongoing needs of the business.
11. Carry out safety responsibilities in accordance with the appropriate Safety Responsibility Statement.
12. Approve, maintain and develop the company's competence management system.
