Are you an established Health & Safety Manager within rail civil engineering seeking an exciting new role? Or perhaps an Advisor ready to step up? This main contractor is looking for someone like you!

The Company
This tier one Rail Civils contractor has built a solid reputation for delivering small to medium sized projects on the CP5 as well as high volume schemes on a minor works framework. In recent years, the business has seen a period of astronomical growth and are now operating at an impressive £200m turnover and are looking to continue to dominate the rail infrastructure market.
Due to increased work in the North West region, the business is looking to add a Health and Safety Manager to the ever growing team!
About the Job
This role comes with plenty of autonomy as you will be overseeing and managing all the Health and Safety elements on the entire LNW route, so you will be expected to travel. Within the team, you will be responsible for managing several advisors, ensuring they are working to company and client policies and promoting best practice to all members of the site teams.

The Ideal candidate
You’re the Health and Safety Manager I’m looking for if you are able to build good strong relationships with the site teams and your colleagues within the department, whilst also being able to manage the client. Culture fit is key for this business as you will need to be seen as a trusted employee, passionate about promoting best health and safety practice and someone who the site teams can trust.
You will be successful in this role if you can demonstrate success in previous health and safety roles, whether this be at a Senior Adviser or Manager level. With the plans in place to grow, my client need someone dedicated to seeing out their career with the business, so a proven track record is crucial in this role, therefore if you’ve hopped around throughout your career this role won’t be suitable for you.
The Requirements
To be considered for this Health and Safety Manager role, you will need a minimum of NVQ Level 5 in a relevant Health & Safety discipline, plus also you must be at least a Graduate Member of IOSH (ideally Chartered). You will also need a CSCS card (Platinum/Health & Safety Manager) and relevant experience in the rail industry.
Remuneration
For the top-notch Health and Safety Manager, my client is offering a basic salary up to £55k plus package including car/car allowance, pension, healthcare and 25 days’ holiday (+ bank holiday).
