Ford & Stanley Interim- The Rail Recruitment Experts are recruiting experienced Senior Ergonomics Specialist to optimise the safety and performance of people's interactions with the Railway.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced individual to assist on major projects who has a consistent track record of delivering excellence in human centred innovation.
Location (s): Central London
Role and Responsibilities:
- Manage the application of ergonomics within the project, meet project goals and optimise the safety and performance of the railway system
- Manage and assure the work of external ergonomics suppliers, negotiating as required so that the appropriate levels of value and professional service are provided
- Assess emergent ergonomics and human factors issues and, in conjunction with relevant stakeholders, take the necessary actions to ensure that risks are eliminated, reduced or controlled
- Provide expert advice on, and analysis of, new systems and processes in order to identify and implement socio-technical system improvements
- Manage the human factors contribution to the design, test and implementation phases of Digital Railway systems integration to improve system design, system operation and risk control
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have Rail system experience and be able to manage human factors integration work. Familiarity with Traffic Management Systems and ETCS would be highly desirable. You will have customer focused skills in supplier management, project delivery and stakeholder management.
Essentials
- Significant experience in applying ergonomics and human factors methods, tools and knowledge in the rail industry
- Knowledge of the rail industry and its structure, systems, infrastructure, standards, operational processes and job roles
- Proven ability in managing commercial, contractual and financial issues
- Advanced degree in Ergonomics, Human Factors, or other relevant subject, or the ability to demonstrate an equivalent level of experience
- Professional Member of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (or other equivalent human factors body) or Member of the British Psychological Society
Desirables
- Familiarity with ETCS and Traffic Management Systems
