Role: Lead Flood Risk Engineer (Rivers, Coastal, Urban)

I am looking to place a Chartered Flood Risk Engineer in an engineering consultancys Aberdeen office. This is a team leadership position that will require the setting up, leadership and development of your own team. The firms other offices across the UK have Flood Risk Modelling teams and Aberdeens work is generally transferred to them in this sector. As such, the firm is looking for someone who can manage the development of a Flood Risk team in Aberdeen. This role would suit someone looking for both the opportunities and challenges that come with development of your own team. The firm is a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy who conduct Civil/Structural/Environmental Design work for a range of public and private sector clients across the UK. The firm has received awards from the ICE, IStructE and RICS, and are committed to developing their staff into leaders in their field.
Ideally, you will be Chartered with the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE) or the Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM), as well as having 10 years in industry of technical modelling, client development and project management within Flood Risk Engineering, covering River Modelling, Coastal Modelling and Urban Flooding. You will be able to manage more junior people in these areas, and will be capable of developing more junior engineers. The firm already has an established client base, but you will have the ability to develop new relationships and maintain old ones.
You will be experienced in a range of software within the water sector, such as Flood Modeller Pro / ISIS, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, MIKE21 / MIKE FLOOD, etc and will be able to oversee other engineers in correct use of flood risk management software.

Job Requirements:
- Chartered Membership of CIWEM / ICE
- Knowledge of modelling in fluvial, pluvial and coastal environments (1D, 2D and 3D)
- Software: Flood Modeller Pro / ISIS, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, MIKE21 / MIKE FLOOD, Infoworks ICM, Civil3D, MicroDrainage
- Experience managing own projects and other engineers/technicians
- Desire and ability to set up, develop and manage own team
