Lead Instrument and Functional Safety Engineer in Norwich, Norwich, Norfolk, England, United Kingdom
Our client is currently recruiting a Lead Instrument and Functional Safety Engineer to join there team on a 12 month contract to be based in Norwich.
The role will be looking at paying £400-£450/ day (Inside ir35).
Job Description
• Preparation of Instrument system design documents (specifications, datasheets, equipment lists, I/O Schedules etc.)
• Review of discipline/designer deliverables (layouts, hook-ups, block diagrams, etc.)
• Provide input into multi-disciplinary reviews (P&IDs, C&Es, datasheets etc.)
• Project document review and sign off from contractor engineering.
• Support Project Leads to determine scope, cost, and scheduling requirements for projects through input to CTR’s, equipment lists etc.
• Support and attend site surveys.
• Vendor management and communications.
• Checking and approval for instrumentation, control systems, and vendor package equipment to ensure compliance with the company and project specifications.
• Input into and management of Change Control.
• Ensure all work activities carried out within the discipline meets the relevant statutory and regulatory requirements, recognising other disciplines.
• Co-ordinate/participate in safety studies such as HAZOP, LOPA, ARM and practical interfaces such as FATs, Constructability Reviews, etc.
• Development of Safety Requirement Specifications and SIS Lifecycle Plan.
• Support the implementation of Functional Safety Audits through the Project lifecycle.
• Work with Perenco UK Process Safety department to integrate the Project Lifecycle into the Process Safety Management Procedure.
Requirements
• FS Eng (TUV Rheinland) qualified
• Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Ideally a Chartered Engineer or working towards
Experience
• Experience delivering brownfield projects in the oil & gas industry
• Operational knowledge of the offshore and onshore gas business
• Experience in instrumentation application and selection and process automation systems
• Familiar with the implementation of IEC61508/61511.
• Experience of SIL verification and functional safety audits.
• A knowledge of Process control systems and alarm management.
• Experience of using ABB Safety insight or similar
