Reporting into the Pre-delivery Director and with a defined route for further progression, this is a newly created position that is key to business growth and will be responsible for leading a team of bid professionals, managing an opportunity from pre-qualification through to contract award.

As the ideally candidate, you will have experience of delivering winning bid submissions through well considered commercial strategies and compelling high scoring quality submissions.

As an accountable leader of the Pre-Delivery team, your responsibilities will include:

• Managing bid teams consisting of planning, estimating, bid writing and administrative roles, assisted as necessary by design, commercial and project management input.
• The preparation of value propositions, strategic review and solution development, commercial assessment and development of a bid winning strategy, including associated risk management.
• Ensuring the bid process is efficiently managed in accordance with Bid Management procedures complying with corporate governance and that submissions provide the maximum opportunity for success.
• To develop and maintain positive relationships internally and externally.

You will have the following demonstratable skills and experience:

• Strong leadership skills, able to energise and engaged a bid team that are passionate about success.
• Ability to provide 1:1 coaching, and also to mentor team members to encourage their development and improve performance.
• Sound business acumen and financially astute with good risk management knowledge.
• Understanding of design management with some engineering knowledge with a good level of IT ability.
• Successfully managed both pre-qualification and tender programmes within the rail industry.
• Experience of relevant customer procurement processes and assurance procedures.
• Knowledge of NEC forms of contract.
