I am currently searching for a competent system lead engineer to join a notable design consultancy. As the lead systems engineer you would be responsible for overseeing the systems engineering projects that comprise of requirements, architecture, assurance and integration engineers.
As the lead, you will be responsible for the overview of the systems teams working on some highly notable infrastructure projects like HS2, phase 1 and phase 2 as well as working with recognisable transportation names such as Network Rail, London Underground, contractors and train operators, councils and academic institutions.
As the senior member, you will provide individual expertise to rail system disciplines (Train control, traffic management, rolling stock and railway information systems).
Role:

Role:
- Provide the specialist systems advice to Clients to take lead on projects
- Mentor systems engineers on projects
- Undertake the planning and preparation to provide assurance evidence
- Support the system engineering activities for feasibility, outline and detailed design of systems
- Lead the production of system engineering and processes for requirements management
- Assist in the production of design
- Able to explain systems engineering techniques to engineers and managers, covering requirements management, assurance and interface management
- Experience in design on rail projects following Network Rails GRIP, London Undergrounds PMF or similar life-cycle development model
- Able to write clear reports and plans in plain English
- Familiar with engineering safety management practice according to the Common Safety Method, Yellow Book or equivalent
- Desirable skills and knowledge (ideally three or more of the following):
- Able to specify or design train control, traffic management, rolling stock or customer information systems
- Able to design or analyses system architectures using TOGAF or similar methodology
Qualifications:
- Engineering degree in electrical, electronic or information systems
- Masters degree in Railway Systems Engineering
