A UK based Rail related engineering main contractor, who is heavily engaged in a massive UK Rail infrastructure development and upgrade programme, is in need of a knowledgeable and experienced Rail related Assistant Project Manager or Lead Project Engineer / Scheme Project Manager with strong multi-discipline Rail project delivery appreciation looking, H+S, CDM, compliance and PC control to be based in the North West.

The appointed Assistant Project Manager / Scheme PM / Project Engineer type will be working closely with and supporting the programme Project Manager. You will be accountable for assisting in assuring the effective project quality plans and helping to ensure that all project work is undertaken in compliance with all relevant technical standards including HSEA and in line with PDSW processes.

You will be expected to represent the Project Manager on occasions, attending varied project progress and development meeting, liaising with key stakeholders, clients and Sub-contractors alike.

This requirement will see the appointed Assistant Project Manager or Lead Project Engineer / Scheme Project Manager be accountable for the following;

Cost control in terms of some management and monitoring of project budgets and cost estimation for section of the programme
Assisting in overseeing and directing (where applicable) the delivery activities of teams consisting of PC reps, SWL, Engineering delivery
Work collaboratively with clients and key stakeholders and other related delivery teams by maintaining high technical standards whilst being compliance with regards to HSEA.

The appointed Assistant Project Manager / Scheme PM will possess the following;

* Past working experience within the planning, excitation and delivery of P-Way and Rail Civils delivery, with multi-discipline interface
* Confidence within man-management, sub-contractor control and conducting or reviewing requirement and project plans, Costing and commercial appreciation, progress monitoring and quality checks experience
* Experience and competence with interfacing and liaising with Clients, Key-Stakeholders, and Sub-contractors
* Will hold a valid PTS
* An effective communicator at all levels both written and verbal, computer literate with credible presentation skills
* Be a driver of delivery to meet time quality and budgetary constraints as well as being a strong Project management support.
