Job Summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Rail Investigations Lead to join the HSQES Department to establish accident and incident prevention strategies throughout the business. The successful candidate will provide support to achieve improved safety through effective investigations in accordance with policy.
Key duties will be to:
- Carryout unbiased investigations in an effective and timely manner.
- Produce reports and safety recommendations that are well researched and effective in reducing the likelihood of a recurrence of the event.
- Management of actions and recommendations ensuring a timely close out.
- Make continuous improvements to safety and the business.
Job Requirements
You will be self-motivated with a pro-active approach and have experience of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines. Problem solving, communication and good interpersonal skills are a key requirement for this role. The candidate must have either a diploma in occupational health and safety or an equivalent NVQ qualification. Accident and incident investigation training is also a core requirement of the role. The following experience/skill set are also essential:
- Extensive knowledge of the railway/construction industry including rail plant and operations
- Knowledge of environmental elements within the industry
- Competent with MS Office applications i.e. word/excel/powerpoint
- Practical experience of conducting formal investigations and delivering lessons learnt
- Full driving licence
