Logistics Coordinator
12 month contract
Location: Brentwood, Essex
Job Purpose
To provide a comprehensive service ordering RRV’s, Dect Kit’s, Small Plant and Welfare ensuring best value for the track renewal and enhancement programme. The role must proactively develop relationships with suppliers and delivery teams to ensure infrastructure needs are supported. To ensure the operations team is provided with the correct plant requirements enabling them to deliver the agreed work bank in a cost effective, safe and reliable manor.
Key Accountabilities
- To develop, maintain and manage positive collaborative relations with delivery teams and plant suppliers.
- To work closely with the delivery/ production teams to collate and request accurately and diligently the RRV, Small Plant and welfare requirements of the business.
- To maintain an appropriate supplier base and highlight any supplier performance problems/ risks to lead logistics.
- To manage, record and respond effectively to all orders including on hires and off hires and any changes/ late changes within the delivery teams.
- Ensure that all requirements are ordered in a timely fashion to meet T-4 aspiration. Attend Resource meetings and participate in weekly conference calls.
- To be fully trained and competent in the infrastructure ordering systems required to ensure consistent supply of goods and services following the safety standards.
- To assist lead logistics in the implementation of appropriate controls and audit regimes that enable compliance with agreed procurement and commercial policies and procedures.
- To make decisions based on ‘value for money’ remove unnecessary costs where possible and challenge the suppliers to competitive rates where possible.
- To capture financial and non-financial benefits. Communicate the scope and benefits to lead logistics when necessary and assist production to working within budget.
- To manage loss/ damage within the division and support the delivery and production team in reducing additional costs to the business.
- Support/ assist co-workers in other divisions as and when required.
Job Skills, Experiences and Qualifications
Essential
- A customer focused approach.
- Excellent personal, influential, communication and organisational skills.
- Demonstrable track record if practical effectiveness in sourcing and dealing with supply chain.
- Able to deal in meticulous detail to ensure accurate ordering and supply.
- Proven track record of working resourcing/ logistics role.
- Deals with people with integrity, honesty and good manners.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Driving License
Desirable
- Understanding RRV/ Small Plant and Welfare requirements in Track Renewals
- Experience of electronic ordering syste
