Job title: Head of Fleet Production (Rolling Stock Maintenance)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced manager to work for a busy Midlands based rail company. This position will see you manage multiple fleets in service and multiple train care and maintenance depots with a total staff count up to 400 people.
This is a varied role that comes at an exciting time. With two new fleet deliveries, external commercial maintenance contracts plus TSA and TSSSA agreements you will gain a wide exposure of the full range of fleet production deliverables.
We are looking for an ambitious, accountable and pro-active manager with a can do attitude. Ideally you will have a proven track record of delivering projects / meeting targets successfully within the engineering sector and will be happy to discuss your achievemnts and capabilities.
We would be keen to speak with individuals who have experience of both engineering and maintenance operations from within the transport industry but are open to applicants outside of this who can demonstrate transferable skills.
Key Skills:
*Understanding of Engineering Production/Maintenance
*Safety Conscious - you will hold ultimate safety responsibility for almost 400 staff across a variety of safety critical environments
*Efficient - Works Quickly & Accurately and demonstrates Transparency & Accountability in all work. Knowledge of LEAN, Kaizen or other formal efficiency techniques will be greatly desirable.
*Analytical & Practical - Knowledge of Reliability Centred Maintenance Techniques, Whole Life Cycle Cost Analysis, Cost-Benefit Analysis and Continual Improvement principles will be greatly desirable.
*Responsible & Financially Astute - you will manage various budgets, projects and deliverables and must have strong commercial acumen and financial planning abilities.
Person Profile
*Degree Qualified within any engineering discipline
*Managerial Credential - must have managed significant budgets and people
*Ideally evidence of professional development within management - E.g. Training within ILM, LEAN, Kaizen, PRINCE 2, MBA etc
.
Desirable
*Have worked previously within long term Maintenance or Improvement Projects.
*People management or work package co-ordination for both direct permanent staff & third party contractors.
*Safety or Training/Competence Qualifications - e.g. NEBOSH; IOSH, A1/A2, C&G 7331 etc
