Total Rail Solutions are looking to appoint a Plant Maintenance Co-ordinator to strengthen the operational activities of the company.
The Role and responsibilities
As the plant maintenance co-ordinator you will be responsible for monitoring and co-ordinating the maintenance and repair of plant and equipment either owned or hired in by Total Rail Solutions in order to ensure that maintenance is carried out to the requirements of maintenance plans. You will ensure that statutory requirements for plant and associated equipment with regard to testing, thorough examinations, etc are met and will ensure all maintenance, repair and statutory examinations carried out are fully documented and maintained for inspection or audit purposes.
The job holder will also be expected to maintain plant and equipment registers, engineering acceptance certificates, calibration certificate and maintenance, service, test and inspection records.
Liaising with the plant and equipment maintainer(s), you will ensure that works carried out are in line with the maintenance plans, Total Rail Solutions’ own internal maintenance standards and ensuring that all plant and equipment is fit for purpose.
Working in collaboration with the plant and equipment administrator who has their own specific duties, ensuring a database of all work carried out on plant and equipment including outstanding defects is kept fully up to date. Using captured statistical data and database records of all costs incurred for each item of plant, provide analysis and feedback to both the Finance Director and Chief Operating Officer on request to ensure that all commercial matters relating to plant and equipment hire are implemented effectively. Additionally there is also a requirement to ensure timely and accurate data capture detailing frequency of maintenance completed, and a planned maintenance look ahead in line with maintenance plans and statutory requirements.
The role will encompass the collation and filing of all relevant paperwork including engineering acceptance certificates, calibration certificates, maintenance, services, test and inspection records for plant and equipment as well as providing copies of new or updated engineering acceptance and statutory examination certification received to the SQE department.
You will be responsible for ensuring all plant and equipment hired out to clients has a copy of the engineering acceptance certificate (where required) and other required records / documents and accessories prior to despatch and that all plant and equipment has been maintained, served, tested, inspected as per requirements and fit for purpose.
Skills, Qualifications and experience
Although not essential but desirable, previous fitter / maintainer experience or a basic underpinning knowledge of plant and equipment maintenance and repair
Working knowledge of statutory legislation, including Railway group and Network Rail Standards relating to plant and equipment maintenance.
Ability to manage changing priorities and work well under pressure
Ability to build solid working relationships with both Total Rail Solutions colleagues and plant maintainers
To effectively support the plant and maintenance administrator in their activities for the smooth and efficient running of the operation.
