Position: Rolling Stock Maintenance Engineer
Location: Edinburgh, Scotland
Salary: £28,000 - £40,000 per annum (Dependent Upon Experience)
Permanent, Full Time
An experienced Maintenance Engineer is required to provide running maintenance and overhaul programs on MK3 rolling stock.
The candidate will be based in Edinburgh, Scotland and will be required to travel weekly to other locations in the UK and Ireland.
Required Experience:
• Overhauls/maintenance and modifications of rolling stock with sound knowledge of BT10 bogies and running gear to C4 and C6 exams
• Working with VMOI’s, Railway Group Standards, ROGS and other railway specific engineering standards.
• Mechanical engineering knowledge and the ability to interpret engineering drawings
• Solving problems and developing effective solutions to meet production deadlines
• Computerised record keeping and report writing
• Possess a customer focused approach
• Excellent written and verbal communicator
• Clean Drivers Licence
• 3 years minimum post qualification experience in a mechanical discipline
Desirable Experience:
• Experience leading and managing maintenance teams
• Leading engineering activities for running maintenance and overhaul
• Assessing work locations to ensure they are fit for purpose and compliant with standards
• Experience liaising and coordinating planned work with clients and subcontractors
• Working with maintenance budgets and project scheduling
• Coordinating maintenance processes and procedures
The Maintenance Engineer Role:
• Provide running maintenance and yearly heavy maintenance and overhauls
• Co-ordinate maintenance processes and procedures
• Work under the direction of the ECM team to complete maintenance records
• Have the initiative to work on your own or as part of team
• Record and compile maintenance data
• Understand and work to railway safety systems
• Ensuring the safe working practices and standards in the workshop and off site locations
• You will be expected to be able to work to a high quality and safely as part of a team
• Competent at using hand tools, test instruments and equipment
• Operating workshop plant as required, within operating limits
• Willing to travel and work at various locations in the UK and Ireland when required
