Associate Senior Engineer

As an Associate, you will be tasked with ensuring that high quality, innovative civil, structural designs are produced, managed, coordinated and delivered in accordance with the business and project requirements. With occasional travel, you will undertake business development activities to bring in new work and new clients to grow the business in a structured manner with profitable projects whilst liaising with all parts of the company.

Accountabilities

• Manage, mentor and provide design/technical guidance to team members and other parts of the business
• Ensure designs are carried out to current codes of practice and safety standards
• Undertake business development activities to bring in new work and new clients
• Produce design, reports and calculations, meeting the project requirements for programme, budget and quality
• Co-ordinate the production of detailed CAD drawings for issue
• Visit sites and undertake surveys as required
• Initiate, support or develop innovative services or products
• May act as designer, checker or approver (depending on competence) as required by the project
• May act as ‘Project Manager’, accountable for the successful delivery of the project
• Liaise with other Professionals internally and externally, including Contractors, sub-Contractors and Clients
• Attend and contribute to meetings, both internal and external
• Develop good working relationships with others based on technical excellence, professionalism and openness
• Organise all relevant method statements and risk assessments in accordance with Construction regulations and health and safety policies
• Help drive the business towards their aims for BIM

Required Skills and Expertise

• Clean Driving Licence
• Understanding of the Eurocodes and ability to design steel, concrete, masonry and timber structural elements
• Broad experience of Civil/ Structural Design Solutions
• Achieved chartered status (IstructE or similar)
