Energy Solutions Business Manager

Salary: £50,000 - £75,000 depending on skills and experience + cash/car allowance

Permanent | Full Time Hours with flexible working patterns available | 40 hours per week

What You'll Be Doing

You'll join Energy Solutions, our energy optimisation division - helping businesses achieve optimised working environments leading to reductions in their buildings' energy consumption through the installation and maintenance of a variety of building control technologies including Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS).

Reporting to the Southern Business Director, you'll be responsible for the development and execution of the Midlands business plan, including financial performance and all aspects of operational delivery.

About Us

Our Energy Solutions business within the larger group, focus on helping businesses achieve significant reductions in their buildings energy consumption through Building Management Systems and remote support via our Energy Management Centre.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Leading an engineering team working with you to achieve planned objectives and budgets focused on both business and customer needs
  • Working with the sales department to grow market share within the new build construction market in and around Birmingham; and you'll be a member of the southern Business Management Team
  • With budget responsibility, you'll forge strong relationships which will ensure commercial and financial compliance
  • Regularly monitor and make improvements to maximise efficiencies
  • You'll have a strong feel for activity in the market place ensuring competitor and market differentiation which will make for informed decision making
  • Ensuring stakeholders, up to and including the Senior Management team, are fully informed of operational objectives, plans and achievements and that a collaborative approach to meeting business challenges is forged
  • Conducting Performance Management reviews with direct reports to ensure objectives are clearly set, skill gaps identified and development plans established and reviewed

Your Skills and Experience

  • Robust operational background working at a Senior Management level
  • Have experience, leading projects and support engineering teams within the construction industry, preferably within the BMS Sector
  • You'll demonstrate good commercial acumen and be comfortable presenting findings through accurate forecasting and reporting
  • Ability to inspire others, setting out clear direction, developing innovative plans and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Hold a full driving licence
