As a result of continuing strong growth, we are seeking to recruit a Railway Infrastructure Business Manager into our Rail Business Management team.

The vacancy will appeal to candidates who want the opportunity to lead the rapid growth of aspects of the rail infrastructure business in a successful and innovative engineering and technology consultancy company. The key focus within this role is business development within signalling, traffic management / train control, communications, information systems and digital, asset management and electrification programmes.

The primary customers covered by this role are Network Rail, TfL, major rail programmes such as HS2, Crossrail 2, Government Departments, and the wider rail supply chain for Infrastructure. We are seeking to further develop our presence across the UK with all of these clients, and to build on our reputation for the delivery of value add engineering consultancy across the complete lifecycle of projects.

The role description of the Railway Infrastructure Business Manager is summarised below:

  • Contribute to the strategy of the business and own elements of the Sector 5 year plan;
  • Influence the development of our technical and engineering consultancy services towards the needs of the Rail Infrastructure market;
  • Utilise existing contacts, and further develop a network of Rail Infrastructure clients and contacts in the UK;
  • Identify, characterise, influence, and capture opportunities for delivery by the business;
  • Support internal delivery and maintain excellent customer relations, quality, programmes, and profitability across a portfolio of projects.


Requirements


The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following attributes:

  • A background in the Railway Infrastructure sector
  • Strong business development and customer relationship management skills, an established and diverse set of railway industry contacts and a good reputation in the client community;
  • Significant rail infrastructure sector experience - We would welcome applications from individuals with engineering consultancy and business development experience across a range of railway infrastructure assets. Those of most interest given our current portfolio of work and aspirations for growth are: signalling, traffic management / train control, communications, information systems and digital, asset management and electrification;
  • An established track record of strategic thinking, business development, capture planning and delivery in a relevant environment;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Commercial awareness and the capability to provide leadership on bids and projects;
  • Good leadership skills, with the ability to motivate individuals and teams across the business;
  • A relevant engineering degree
