Alstom UK&I SS&I have an exciting opportunity to join our team based in Kensal, delivering signalling works on the railway infrastructure across West London. Alstom have secured projects to deliver signalling upgrades and implement European Train Control System (ETCS) on the Paddington to Reading (P2R) route and beyond to help improve reliability, increase capacity and pave the way for the construction of the HS2 Hub at Old Oak Common.
As the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Advisor you will play a key role supporting the Regional EHS Manager and the Project Manager(s) to ensure their EHS responsibilities are carried out whilst delivering planned works within budget, safely and within set timescales.
As an EHS Advisor we need someone who can:
- Work with the team to maintain a high level of focus on EHS encouraging and implementing continual improvements throughout project delivery and the sharing of knowledge
- Support the project team to implement and continually improve EHS delivery.
- Attend local walkouts with relevant stakeholders / other contactors in the area.
- Undertake site inspections & audits and support in any incident investigations.
- Support the development of site briefings & project documentation.
- Assist with Alstom’s Zero Deviation Policy (AZDP) implementation on the project.
- Assist with any supplier performance issues / audits at project level.
- Support & advise operational staff in producing site & COSHH risk assessments.
The successful candidate must have the following skills, qualifications & experience:
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements as set out in legislation and rail industry standards.
- Experience in providing health & safety support to railway contractors or Network Rail.
- Experience in supporting complex site construction work.
- Experience in monitoring activities through inspections & audits.
- CDM Awareness Training.
It is also desirable for candidates to hold or be working towards a recognised professional qualification in Health & Safety (i.e. IEMA Certificate / NEBOSH Diploma).
