Environmental Advisor
Location – Birmingham with travel
Permanent Position - £30,000 - £35,000 pa

Our client is an established and experienced railway infrastructure contractor with an excellent track record of successfully delivering projects across the whole of the UK.
With over 70 years in the Rail Industry they are continuing to grow and have earned an excellent reputation for successfully delivery of projects.
You will need:
Essential:
- You will be self-motivated with a pro-active approach and have experience of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
- Problem solving, communication and good interpersonal skills are a key requirement for this role.
- Previous experience in a similar role within either the rail or construction industry is a requirement.
- Holding a degree or working towards a degree in environmental management
- Practical experience of effective implementation of ISO14001.
- Experience of liaising with local authorities, the general public and the client is essential.
- Production of environmental standards and site specific environmental management plans, including the identification of significant aspects and impacts.
- Ability to produce contract statistical environmental information and undertake environmental audits to ensure where necessary corrective plans are successfully developed and implemented.
- Development, implementation and monitoring of Corporate Responsibility for the company.
- Proficient in MS office applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Good communication and organisational skills.
The Role:
An opportunity has arisen for an Environmental Advisor to join major projects health and safety team. There will be a requirement to visit work sites on a regular basis – Company Car or allowance will be given.
Reporting to the Head of Quality & Environment the key duties will include:
- Providing support to the Head of Quality & Environment in terms of strategic corporate environmental matters
- Providing support and guidance to the project and delivery teams with regards to Environmental legislation, in particular Waste, Ecology, Pollution and Nuisances.
- Responsible for ensuring that the project and delivery teams complies with both internal management systems and also Environmental legislation.
