Environmental Advisor in London, London, United Kingdom
I am currently seeking an experienced Environmental Advisor to join my client, a well known civil engineering contractor on a permanent basis. The selected candidate will be working on a complex multiple multi million pound rail project and develop their career through the business.
This position is going to be based in the East London area so and you will need to be able to travel to site within 1 hour. You will need to have the flexibility to work from the office but still be within a good distance from the site.
Reporting to the Project Manager and Regional Director, you will be required to promote the pursuit of excellence and continuous improvement of environmental, sustainability and community relations aspects of the project.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Have expert knowledge in and demonstrate the requirements of the Environmental and Sustainability policies
- Be familiar with and deliver requirements of the UK Health and Safety and Environment Policies and IFE programme.
- Develop, update and review the Environmental Management System
- Advise and support project team with managing their environmental and sustainability responsibilities
- Promote continuous improvement of environmental performance on specific projects.
- Provide advice, support and assistance to all project personnel to enable them to manage their
environmental responsibilities.
Candidate requirements:
- Degree qualified in an environmental discipline or equivalent
- Previous experience of project management within the civil and rail industry
- Excellent communication and organisation skills
- A valid CSCS card
