HSQE Advisor (Night) in London, London, United Kingdom
My client is currently looking to recruit an HSQE advisor with a strong background on the London Underground, to work on nights, where you will be supporting the Head of HSQE in maintaining compliance across a large infrastructure project on the London Underground.
The role will be both office and site based and will be advising the Project Team on all aspects of HSQE.
The successful candidate will offer support and assistance where required in order to successfully deliver the project and maintain and improve HSQE standards across all sites.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Develop and implement strategies taking into account the business and corporate requirements for managing and continually improving the company's safety standards.
Developing and reviewing safety aspects of: Work Package Plans / Task Briefing Sheets (Method statements) and Procedures.
Ensuring 'standard' HSQE Start-up Packs are prepared for new projects and HSQE information remains current- including:
o Posters
o Notices
o Signage
o Registers
o Procedures & etc.
Managing, updating & ensuring briefing of changes for:
o Safety, Rail Documentation, Regulations and Standards etc
Providing/obtaining advice/guidance & giving assistance on general HSQE matters.
Ensuring HSQE compliance.
o Risk Assessments
o Welfare arrangements
o Communication and employee engagement- Project Safety Meetings
Undertaking project inductions to assist the project.
Carrying out training sessions / briefings on HSQE topics as necessary to project team
Monitoring employees and contractors to ensure that activities are undertaken in accordance with agreed:
o Standards (e.g. client, industry, OHSAS 18000 & HSG65)
o Procedures
o Work Package Plans / Task Briefing Sheets ( Method statements )
o Inspection and Test plans
Undertaking/reporting on formal HSQE audits of:
o Suppliers
o Projects
o Workshop
Compilation of HSQE reports including KPI's
Assisting with Accident / Incident, Near Miss / Close call investigations
Experience required for the role:
Good organisational & communication skills with appropriate level of influencing and inter-personal skills.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint
CDM Management
A results focus with a 'sense of urgency' to achieve the results in the required timescale.
The ability to plan and organise work
The ability to solve problems and make decisions
Worked on a Signalling project and environment
Qualifications
NEBOSH Certificate ( working towards Diploma)
IEMA Certificate or equivalent
London Underground ICI
Experience
Good knowledge of CDM Regulations
Project HSQE experience (minimum 3 years).
Knowledge and experience of working on the London underground
An understanding of the customer requirements for safe working
Experience operating in Safety management
Experience of working with ISO <phone number removed> & OHSAS 18001 / HSG 65 standards.
Risk & Auditing assessment skills.
Fire Precautions management
The successful candidate will have proven experience of working on London Underground Infrastructure.
