We are currently dealing with a major Civil Engineering and Infrastructure firm searching for an Intermediate Transport Planner to join their Streets and Networks team in Manchester on a permanent basis.
The right candidate will have demonstratable experience in designing, modelling and appraising active travel, as well as experience of street and junction design/modelling. The candidate must be able to demonstrate traffic management solutions and transformational placemaking, with an ability to act as a Technical Lead or Project/Task Manager.
In the role, you will have the support of the Line Manager and Experts to help guide your work and experience, as well creating opportunities for self-development and sharing your skills to other junior staff. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to pursue business and technical training to support your career.
The candidate must have a good understanding of streets/traffic engineering principles and of local junction modelling software. Furthermore, they must be experienced within technical leadership and project management - particularly in Client facing positions.
Job Specification:
- Bachelor/Higher Qualification in a relevant subject
- Chartered Engineer/Transport Planner or working towards similar status
- Experience with Junctions 9, LinSig and VISSIM software
- Knowledge of local and national design standards (DMRB, TSRGD, LCDS, MfS2, Traffic Signs Manual)
