Contract
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensuring technical compliance for OHL core activities
- Support the construction team in preparation of site packs, production of task briefs, printing out design drawings.
- Verification of Design and Design Allocation
- Raising Electrification Technical Queries
- Monitor implementation of TQN’s, FCR’s and other Site Design Instructions
- Prepare hand back documentation
- Setting out.
- Preparation of Work Package Plans and Task Briefings.
- Liaison with contract team members and sub-contractors
- Briefing of employees.
- Input into programme and resource plan.
- Implement core procedures as designated by Project/Construction Manager.
- Ensure compliance with current CDM Regulations.
- Input of information and periodic reporting.
- Carry out testing if required and competent to do so.
- Become conversant with all drawings, specifications and related information for OHL works.
- Material take-offs and requisitions
- Keep accurate records and update trackers periodically
- Maintain a good working relationship with Client and associated personnel;
- Manage and control your section of the work according to agreed programmes
- To cover your absence from site during holiday periods, you are to handover your duties to a delegate agreed with your Manager
- Assisting with essential site surveying to enable effective installation of OHL equipment
- Managing interfaces between multiple disciplines. This includes Civils, PWay, Signalling, Plant, E&P, Testing and Commissioning
- Ensuring accurate and consistent recording and delivery of the as-built details
- Assisting with delivering the scheduled programme of works on a daily basis
- Taking responsibility for Risk Assessments and managing the production of Task Briefings and Work Package Plans
- Ensuring equipment is calibrated and maintained to the necessary quality standards as implemented by the company
- Reporting problems, issues, dangers etc. to the Construction Manager as and when they arise
- Ensuring those within your remit are fully trained to carry out their duties safely and effectively
Essential
- Excellent communication skills, including drafting of written documentation
- Able to work within a team
- Adaptable, motivated and uses own initiative
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
- Highly-organised
- Mechanical engineering qualification preferred but Electrical engineering qualification acceptable.
- Previous experience on-site
- Previous experience in a rail operations environment
- Previous experience in OHL construction projects
Desirable
- Excellent communication skills, including drafting of written documentation
- Able to work within a team
- Adaptable, motivated and uses own initiative
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
- Highly-organised
- Full clean driving licence
- PTS Certification
- Ability to communicate strategy to the wider team
Experience of working within a collaborative environment
