Management of the Product and Service business activity as a discreet project within the SS&I organisation, covering business related to third party and internal customers, to ultimately deliver company financial targets for the project of order intake, sales and margin. Project management of Product Business supply chain, procurement and product management activity. The products business supplies signalling and infrastructure products to the rail industry

Management team, project delivery, business development, supply chain, manufacturing, sourcing, suppliers, engineering.
OBJECTIVES
- Deliver target for Product Business order intake
- Deliver target for Product Business sales
- Deliver target for Product Business margin
- Project manage supply chain activity to ensure optimum OTD to meet customer demand
- Project mange procurement activity to maintain product supply
- Deliver expectations and targets for customer support contracts
- Project manage engineering product support activity
- Maintain Product and Service business Price lists
- Maintain Product and Service business support documentation
- Production of accurate budgets and forecasts for Product Business project
- Regular provision of accurate reports on Product and Service business to management
- Provide input into senior management strategy on Product and Service business including NPD, NPI, etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Management of Product and Service business development activity
- Project management of Product Business procurement, sales processing, operations and product management activity
- Project management of Product Business sales, orders, margins, inventory, salaries, budgets, head-count, overheads
- Maintain Product and Service business sales channels via distributors, competitors, re-sellers, and end users (including trainborne and trackside business)
- Maintain customer relationships, maintaining a network of contacts related to Product and Service business
- Project management of key supplier relations
- Management of Product Business tendering activity
- Manage provision of customer support activity including administrative, technical, commercial, etc
- Regular provision of accurate reports on Product and Service business to management
- Provide input into senior management strategy on Product and Service business including NPD, NPI
- Supervision or management of the Product and Service Group. Undertaking all staff management duties including undertaking relevant Performance Management & People Review activities
- Undertaking travel as required in line with the requirements of the role
- To comply with and undertake all relevant Environment, Health & Safety measures and activities
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICTATORS
- Accurate budgets, forecasts, business cases, etc. submitted to key Alstom stakeholders
- Meeting or exceeding company budgeted targets for Product Business project for orders, sales, and margin
- Effective maintenance of sales channels
- Positive customer feedback
- Production and provision of accurate management reports
- Tenders for Product & Service business submitted & won
- Accurate maintenance of price lists and Product Business support documentation
- Provision of customer support
POSTHOLDER REQUIREMENTS
Educational Requirements
- Degree or equivalent in relevant subject (Business Management or engineering)
- professional acreditation with an appropriate organisation desirable ie CEng or CIM etc
