PSR Solutions are currently working on an exciting opportunity for an experienced SHEQ Advisor to join a leading Tier 1 contractor on a long term Rail project. The role requires a NEBOSH experienced Health and Safety professional to provide advice and support the business to ensure a safe working environment for all staff, contractors and visitors. The ideal individual will have at least 1 years' experience in either a Rail or Metro environment.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Drive positive culture change within the business
- Investigating/ recording incidents, accidents, complaints and cases of ill health
- Attend client meetings/ Safety Stand Down event and 'lessons learnt' reviews
- Complete and communicate HSE reports
- Attend management meetings in the absence of the Head of HSEQ
- Compiling Health and Safety & Environmental Statistics
- Carrying out presentations to groups of employees/ managers
- Compile risk assessments and COSHH assessments
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented
- Ensure working practices are safe and comply with legislation
- Record incidents and accidents, and produce statistics for managers
- Ensuring up to date knowledge of any new or proposed legislation, and maintain a working knowledge of all Health & Safety Executives (HSE) initiatives and any developments that affect the industry
- Attend institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) seminars and read professional journals
- Produce manage reports, newsletters, safety alerts and bulletins
- Advise on a range of specialist areas, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERTISE
- Clean Driving Licence (required)
- Rail/ Civils site experience (required)
- IEMA Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management (desirable)
- NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (desirable)
- Experience in managing and leading culture change (desirable)
- Environmental Management experience (desirable)
