Senior Engineering Design Manager: Denmark

This is a very senior engineering management position working for a leading specialist consultancy based in Denmark. This role is the Lead Technical Engineering position on a high speed signalling project and is accountable for all engineering design management and the control of systems engineering process, reporting to Project Director and accountable for agreements with the Supplier with respect to the technical delivery.

Ideal candidate for this role with be Degree / Masters Degree qualified, with 20+ years of design and engineering management at senior level, with at least 1 high speed rail project using ERTMS/ETCS signalling systems in Europe.

Prioritised list:
1. Management of the design experts team for system engineering and technical disciplines (ETCS, IXL, power supply, and others).
2. Supervision of supplier design and development activities to ensure delivery of an integrated system meeting the customer requirements.
3. Acceptance of supplier deliveries in collaboration with the project test manager (FAT / factory acceptance, SAT / site acceptance, ).
4. Follow-up on supplier and client organisation deliveries for the rollouts, mainly during the respective site-specific design sub-phases.
5. Continuous development / refinements of project proceedings re site-specific design for the purpose to increase efficiency of the rollouts.

Main tasks of position
1. Exercise the primary technical contact with the supplier on daily basis
2. Supervise generic design and development activities by the supplier in view of fulfilling the customer requirements, in project phases .
3. Track and follow-up generic design and development by the supplier on client actions and deliveries for the rollouts (site-specific design sub-phases)
4. Track and follow-up on (BDK) actions and deliveries for the rollouts (site-specific design sub-phases)
5. Review supplier's submissions (baselines, documentation, technical design, ) and coordinate review and submissions with other parties in BDK.
6. Align with TSA (technical authorities in BDK) and with railway integration department (currently OMO).
7. Manage the team of experts on systems engineering and technical disciplines (IXL/LX, ETCS, power supply, KMS/EoG etc excluding TMS experts).

Requirements to apply
Degree (preferable a Master Degree) qualified or similar competency achieved via experience (Chartered, Incorporated, MIRSE, ect..)
20+ years expertise and high level of competency within Systems Engineering.
Railway signalling system expertise, particularly high speed systems ERTMS/ETCS
Full project life-cycle experience including design sub-phase management.
Experience in working and taking lead roles within large project organisations
Team management experience
Fluent in English language, another European language such as Danish, Finish ect would be highly advantageous.
