Key Attributes

• Previous Estimating experience, working on civil engineering and infrastructure projects
• Working from 1st principles pricing all elements including labour, plant and materials
• Able to identify and mitigate project risks and opportunities
• Assist in the management and coordination of tenders from ITT / PQQ stage, preparation of tender documents and attending tender review meetings.
• Pricing for projects up to £10 million
• Common sense approach, with the ability to build long-term client relationships
• Experience mentoring and developing junior members of the team

The Role

Reporting into the Estimating Manager, you will have a common sense approach to working, with the desire to develop and progress your career, and the ability to build long-term internal and client relationships.

• You will be working to 1st Principles on civil engineering, infrastructure and groundwork's projects.
• Undertaking estimates in accordance with Company procedures and delivering in accordance with client SLA's.
• Provide indicative pricing support for business development.
• Assist with the preparation of the financial elements of the tender, giving effective financial input and advice.
• Identify opportunity and risk during tender process and surrounding pricing.
• Maintain register of key assumptions within estimate.
• Maintain tender estimate file.
• Obtain feedback from site teams on estimating adequacy and current costs.
• Resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analysing information.
